Meet the Cast

Tommy Cunningham
Sweeney Todd
Tommy is a passionate and dedicated performer with recent credits including Fueilly in Les Misérables and Johnny Casino in Grease, both staged at the prestigious Grand Opera House. He holds a Diploma in Musical Theatre (DipLCM) and is currently completing his second, further honing his skills in acting and voice.
Alongside his theatrical pursuits, Tommy is studying Physics at Queen’s University Belfast, bringing both discipline and curiosity to every role he takes on.

Sarah Close-Ledgewood
Mrs Lovett
Sarah is beyond excited to be playing the role of Mrs Lovett in this upcoming production of Sweeney Todd! Past credits include Grease (Sandy), Our House (Sarah), Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast), Anybody’s (West Side Story) among others. She is currently in her second year of drama school, training at Emil Dale Academy!
She is super excited to indulge in the experience of playing such an incredible character!

Aodhán Halfpenny
Tobias
Aodhán is delighted to return to the Avenue Arts Academy after playing Frederick Barrett in the award winning Titanic: The Musical last summer!
Aodhán has been fortunate to play many iconic roles in Musical Theatre, credits include: Joseph (Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat), Marius (Les Miserables), Danny Zuko (Grease), Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar), Sky Masterson (Guys & Dolls), Jesse Tuck (Tuck Everlasting), Will Parker (Oklahoma!), Dennis (All Shook Up), Nicely-Nicely Johnson (Guys & Dolls), Corny Collins (Hairspray), Rolf Gruber (The Sound of Music), Lefou (Beauty and the Beast) and Baby John (West Side Story).
Aodhán is thrilled to be bringing 'Toby' to life and really hopes you enjoy his performance. Aodhán dedicates all of his performances to his Granny Maggie, his biggest fan.

Dara Lawlor
Judge Turpin
Dara started with The Avenue Arts Academy 2 years ago, his first show with us being West Side Story. In that time, we have seen Dara in many roles upon our stage.
Throughout his time here, Dara has achieved his Grade 8 in Musical Theatre singing, and worked his way towards an A Level in both Dance and Drama.
He has made us aware that without the Academy support, he wouldn't have been able to do it. Being a principal role in 2 NODA award winning shows, one being our revered production of 'Titanic', he explains that, "Without the Academy, I wouldn't have been able to come so far out of my shell, and realise my true talent. Sweeney Todd will certainly be a show worth seeing due to the hard work ethic of both staff and cast member."

Danny Gibson
Anthony
Danny is honoured to play Anthony in Sweeney Todd, a role that marks the end of an unforgettable chapter.
Over the past eight years as a student at the Academy, he has grown both as a performer and as a person, with highlights including Emmett in Legally Blonde and Harold Bride in Titanic.
This stage has been his creative home, and the students and staff have become like his family. He wishes to thank Siobhan, Keith, Jess, Wilfie and Sarah for not only this show but for nurturing him and allowing him to chase his dreams.
As he prepares to begin training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, he leaves with immense gratitude, countless memories, and a heart full of appreciation for everything the Academy has given him. He is proud to share this with the audience and his fellow cast members along with the creative staff.

Olivia Pyper
Johanna
This marks Olivia’s debut with The Avenue Arts Academy, though she’s no stranger to the stage. With over 10 years of performance experience, Olivia has appeared in productions such as Miss Saigon, Seussical, Legally Blonde, Sister Act, Grease, Footloose, and Annie.
She has thoroughly enjoyed being part of this production—especially making new friends—and hopes the audience enjoys it just as much.

Lauren Picking
Beggar Woman
Lauren is excited to return to the stage in this production of Sweeney Todd. Her previous roles include Sister Mary Roberts in Sister Act, Killer Queen in We Will Rock You, Enid Hoops in Legally Blonde, and Ida Straus in Titanic the Musical. Outside of the theatre, she plans to begin a BA (Hons) degree in Drama at Queen’s University Belfast.

Finn Harding
Pirelli
Finn Harding has been a member of The Avenue Arts Academy for 4 years now.
His previous roles include, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream-Coat, Omar in Aladdin Jr., Buggins in Half a Sixpence, Eugene in Grease, Henry Etches in Titanic the Musical and Nikos in Legally Blonde, all with various companies.
He plays the oboe and has sang in the Schola Cantorum at St. Peter's Cathedral for 9 years. He has a Diploma in Musical Theatre Singing and is awaiting the result of his recent Grade 8 Classical Singing exam.
He is very excited for everyone to see his performance, and hopes you all enjoy!

Eoin Keenan
Beadle Bamford
This is Eoin’s 3rd summer show with the Academy and is so glad to be a part of this production of Sweeney Todd.
Some of his previous musical roles include The Baker (Into the Woods) and Riff (West Side Story). Eoin also has a love for sport outside of the theatre and is hoping to study Physiotherapy at University in September. He hopes you all enjoy the show!

Eoin Hannaway
Fogg
Eoin is thrilled to be part of this production of Sweeney Todd and the opportunity to work alongside such a fantastic cast and crew.
Recent roles include Warner in Legally Blonde, and Gomez in the Addams family musical.
Come September he will be begin studying Musical Theatre at the London College of Music. Enjoy the show!

Seán Cooper
Featured Ensemble
Seán Cooper is a member of the Featured Ensemble in Sweeney Todd and has been part of The Avenue Arts Academy for six years.
Over the past year, he completed his Level 4 Diploma with Trinity College London. Throughout his time there, not only during the diploma but also across numerous productions, The Avenue Arts Academy has played a key role in shaping him into the performer he is today.

Ríona McCann
Featured Ensemble
Ríona is so excited to take part in this production of Sweeney Todd. Previously, Ríona has featured in Legally Blonde, Titanic, Ghost, Footloose and Hairspray. Outside of theatre, Ríona will soon begin a BA in Screen Production.
Ríona can't wait to return to The Avenue Arts Academy’s stage and work with the fantastic creative team.

Melanie Harris

Melanie is delighted to be making her stage debut in one her favourite shows, Sweeney Todd.
Beyond this production, Melanie works in costume for theatre and museums, specialising in Tudor History and will be returning to the Grand Opera House this Panto season as part of the Wardrobe team.
She is ecstatic to be in a show written by Stephen Sondheim, her all time favourite theatre composer!

Aizan Martin

Aizan is proud to be returning for his second show with The Avenue Arts Academy, Sweeny Todd. Past credits include Titanic: The Musical, Grease (Kenickie), Beauty And The Beast.
He is excited to soon begin classes in The Avenue Arts Academy as well as studying Media at SERC.
He is beyond grateful to be Featured Ensemble this year and enjoyed showing his support to fellow cast mates and crew who all work so hard.

Ciara McLoughlin

Ciara is so excited to be taking part in this production of Sweeney Todd.
Her previous theatre credits include the likes of Chicago (Roxie Hart), Legally Blonde (Brooke Wyndham), West Side Story, Beauty and the Beast and The Pirates of Penzance.
Outside of theatre, Ciara is entering her second year of a Higher Level Apprenticeship at NI Water with a foundation degree in Applied Medical Studies through Ulster University. She looks forward to working with the Academy again in the future.

Marcus Kearns
Featured Ensemble
Marcus is excited to make his debut with The Avenue Arts Academy in this production of Sweeney Todd.
Previous credits include Bugsy Malone (Yonkers), Elf the Musical (Buddy), and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Dean Paxton).
He is thrilled to be working alongside such a talented cast and creative team, and looks forward to bringing this story to life. Enjoy the show!

Alexa Thompson

Alexa is so excited to perform in Sweeney Todd.
Past theatre credits include playing Serena in Legally Blonde and performing in many other shows including: Titanic the Musical, We Will Rock You, West Side Story and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Outside of theatre, she is about to begin her A Levels, studying Chemistry, Biology and Drama. She can’t wait to perform this show that has been an amazing experience with an incredible cast and creative team!

Cara Molloy

Cara is thrilled to return to the stage for Sweeney Todd.
Past credits include Beauty and the Beast, Evita, Anastasia (Tsarina Alexandra), Titanic the Musical, Oliver (Mrs Sowerberry) and Legally Blonde (Judge).
She will begin a BA in Performance Costume at the University of Edinburgh in September, and grateful to the academy for inspiring her and sending her on her way. Bain sult as an seó!

Samantha Scott

Samantha is thrilled to be back on stage in the Academy’s production of ‘Sweeney Todd’.
A passionate performer and dedicated student, Samantha is currently studying Communication Management and Public Relations at the University of Ulster, Belfast.
Her theatre credits include Sunset Boulevard at the Grand Opera House, Legally Blonde (Margot) and Fame (Miss Sherman).
Most recently, she was honoured to be crowned “Miss Talent” 2025 in the Miss World Northern Ireland competition.
Samantha is about to begin her third and final year at The Avenue Arts Academy, and she couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off! She is incredibly grateful to the cast and creative team for such a unique and enjoyable experience.

Evie Gillespie

Evie is very excited to tackle the score of this production of Sweeney Todd.
Past credits include Titanic: The Musical (Kate Mullins), Legally Blonde (Delta Nu) and We Will Rock You (Featured Ensemble).
Evie will soon begin her professional Musical Theatre journey at Mountview on the Certificate Of Higher Education in Musical Theatre at their new Belfast campus!
She is thankful for the creative team and cast for all their support and teamwork. Hope you enjoy the show!

Caoila Cushnahan

Caoila is thrilled to be part of Sweeney Todd.
Her standout roles include Blanche DuBois (A Streetcar Named Desire) and Tallulah (Bugsy Malone). Previous theatre credits include Legally Blonde, Titanic the Musical, Ghost, West Side Story, Annie, Aladdin, Amelda, and many more.
She is about to begin her A Levels, studying English Literature, Performing Arts, Sociology, and Health & Social Care. In her upcoming school musical, she’ll be taking on the role of Mr. Sowerberry.
She is so thankful to her cast mates and the creative team for helping bring this amazing show to life!

Lydia Dobson

Lydia is excited for her first performance with The Avenue Arts Academy.
She is a member of Queens Musical Theatre Society and has recently been in mini musicals and an end of year showcase. She currently studies Screen Production and Acting.

Emily Strahan

Emily is excited to perform in Sweeney Todd!
Emily attends acting classes at the Lyric and has recently completed her Grade Six in singing for Musical Theatre.
Previous shows she has performed in is The sound of Music (Louisa), The Wizard of Oz (The Wicked Witch) and A Christmas Carol (The Ghost of Christmas Past) Emily also studies drama at A-level.
She thanks the creative team and her fellow cast members for an amazing show.

Charlie Baxter

Charlie is so excited to be back with The Avenue Arts Academy in their production of Sweeney Todd.
He has been with the Academy for two years and has enjoyed other productions with them such as Titanic and Legally Blonde.
He is so grateful for friendships he has made here and the doorways it has opened up for him off the stage as well with amdram football.

Arianna McCracken

Arianna is returning to the stage in this production of Sweeney Todd.
Past credits include Titanic the musical and Legally Blonde with The Avenue Arts Academy aswell as taking part in Dorothy in Oz as a flying monkey in Whitehouse Ballet School.
She is very exited to return to the stage in this production.

Nathaniel McCracken
Ensemble
Nathaniel is returning to the stage in this production of Sweeney Todd.
Past credits include The Major in 2024's summer production of Titanic the Musical, Grand Master Chad and Dewey in a school production of Legally Blonde and multiple portrayals of Mr Wormwood in various different productions of Matilda the Musical.
Outside of the theatre, he will be shortly beginning his A-levels to hopefully pursue a future in law.

Cara Linden

Cara is thrilled to be involved in her first Avenue Arts production, Sweeney Todd.
She has previous experience on stage through various project’s including, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver, Anastasia, and most recently, The Sound of Music.
After successfully passing her DipLCM in Musical Theatre at the end of the school year, she now looks forward to begin studying Music Performance at Queens University Belfast in September.

Rachael Masterson

Rachael is excited to be returning to the stage in this production of Sweeney Todd.
Her past credits include Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, and Titanic the Musical.
Outside of the theatre, Rachael enjoys reading and creative writing.

Cassie Cunningham

Cassie is thrilled to be part of this production of Sweeney Todd.
She has been performing since the age of six, with previous roles including Molly in Annie and Scuttle in The Little Mermaid.
A passionate dancer, Cassie holds graded qualifications in Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, and Lyrical.
She is currently a student at Assumption Grammar School, where she is studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths.
Cassie is grateful to the production team and her fellow cast members for their encouragement and support.

Rachel Hull

Rachel is excited to make her Avenue Arts Academy debut in Sweeney Todd!
Previous credits include Anastasia (Fusion Theatre), Beauty and the Beast (Lisnagarvey Operatic).
Performing in her school's drama department and has had choreographic responsibility of many productions including Annie, Little Shop of Horrors (Crystal), and Legally Blonde (Pilar).
She is beginning Paediatric Nursing studies this September at University.

Grace McSparren

Grace is very excited to be performing in 'Sweeney Todd'.
Some of her other past theatre credits include shows such as Legally Blonde, We Will Rock You, Titanic and more.
Outside of musical theatre, Grace is beginning her A levels, studying Maths, English Literature, History and Politics.
Grace is grateful for the opportunity to perform 'Sweeney Todd' alongside The Avenue Arts Academy's incredible cast and creative team.

Susan O'Neill

Susan is so excited to be taking part in this production of Sweeney Todd with such an amazing cast, creative, and crew.
Past credits include Legally Blonde and Titanic the Musical.
Off the stage, she is starting A-Levels in September.

Zoe O'Kane

Zoë O’Kane is delighted to be part of Sweeney Todd.
She previously performed in the ensemble of Legally Blonde with both Belfast Royal Academy and The Avenue Arts Academy.
Currently studying GCSE Drama, she’s grateful for the chance to be involved in such a great production. Huge thanks to the incredible cast and crew for making this such a fun and memorable experience!

She’s a student at Wallace High School Lisburn and is hoping to go on to study Early Years Education in University.
